A Scheduled Outage

April 15, 2009

I have a post in the works but I just can’t seem to finish it. It’s something called priorities. The kidlets are home on spring vacation this week. We’ve raided the library for pirate books (Mya is obsessed) which led to making pirate maps. Then we found pirate treasures, otherwise known as lost toys under the couch.

Most of the time, I’ve been working in the restaurant, I mean kitchen. Maxx and Mya’s out-of-control stuffed animal collection enjoyed a picnic yesterday, complete with spilled lemonade. Let me not forget to mention the side order of crushed Goldfish that occurred when the picnic turned into a dance party.

Speaking of parties. Zach has been entertaining us this week with his guitar and a new song he’s writing. Sounds a bit like the last song her wrote, but I still love it. Who knew that I’d be grooving to grunge music. It happens….when you love your child. Excedrin also makes it sound a bit more like classic rock.

We’re off to play Monster Mini Golf today. Well, the kids are and I’ll be trailing 50 miles behind with my crap ass knee. I do remember the days prior to all of this knee surgery when I used to say, “C’mon guys…stop falling behind.”

So, a decent post is on its way but kidlet fun comes first. Even if that just means sitting on the front steps and blowing bubbles with Mya for the fiftieth time this week.

Careful for the zombie holes on the mini-golf course, Cheryl! You never know when one might pop out at you and take a limb or two or three!

    heh heh

Hope you have a great family day!
